To get your music on JioSaavn, you distribute it through a music distributor — JioSaavn does not accept direct uploads from individual artists. You upload your track once to a distributor, select JioSaavn (and the other platforms) as a destination, and it delivers your song to JioSaavn for you. For an Indian artist, JioSaavn matters: it's one of the largest home-grown streaming platforms and reaches listeners that global apps sometimes miss.
Why JioSaavn is worth it for Indian artists
JioSaavn has a huge India-first audience, especially across Hindi and regional-language listeners and Jio's enormous mobile user base. Even though its per-stream payout is on the lower side (see streaming earnings), the sheer reach makes it an essential platform to be on — not an optional extra.
How to get on JioSaavn, step by step
- Choose a distributor that includes JioSaavn in its network (Grootin and the major distributors all do).
- Upload your mastered track, cover art (3000×3000px), and metadata.
- Make sure JioSaavn is selected in your platform list — by default, distributing to "all platforms" includes it.
- Set your release date and submit. JioSaavn is delivered alongside Spotify, Apple Music, and the rest.
The full upload flow is the same as our Spotify release guide — one upload covers every platform.
Getting your language and metadata right
For JioSaavn, accurate language tagging matters a lot — it helps your song surface to the right regional audience. Tag the correct primary language (Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, etc.), spell names correctly, and pick the right genre. Clean metadata is what gets you discovered on India-first platforms.
